Pipettes are invaluable tools for easily transferring and mixing paint.
We’ve had transfer pipettes on MPS since our launch and have planned to expand the selection for some time. Now, with a reliable source of lab-grade pipettes established, we’ve expanded our selection to include 5ml, 3ml, and Micro (~1ml) pipettes. Handy!
Being made of lab-grade plastic all of the Transfer Pipettes on Model Paint Solutions can be used with the strongest of solvents including lacquer thinner and acetone. These sturdy pipettes can be rinsed and re-used many times.
Both our 3 and 5ml Pipettes have 0.250ml gradations up to 1ml total making accurate measurement and delivery of small volumes easy.
To measure liquid in 0.25ml increments up to 1ml total, simply suck up the desired volume using the gradations on the side of the stem.
Having a clean pipette at the ready to transfer commonly handled liquids not only makes it quicker and easier, it also lessens the chance of introducing contamination into the solvent from a dirty pipette.
Pipette holders can be easily made by taking the middle portion of a pipette stem and gluing (or taping) it to the side of the solvent bottle.
A whole pipette now easily fits into the glued piece; ready to go when needed.
By filling the stem and bulb of this pipette, a total of 5ml can be delivered at a time. By using the gradations on the stem, a total of 1ml can be transferred in 0.250ml increments.
The 5ml Pipette is good for transferring liquids commonly used in larger volumes such as Thinners and Cleaners. The 5ml is also handy for preparing larger volume mixes of paint.
Each bag has 25 pipettes for $5.50.
That works out to be 22 cents for each 5ml lab-grade, graduated, re-usable pipette.
Not too shabby 🙂
By filling the stem and bulb of this pipette, a total of 3ml is delivered at a time. By using the gradations on the stem, a total of 1ml can be transferred in 0.250ml increments.
The 3ml Pipette is good for most average-sized jobs be it transferring thinners or mixing smaller batches of paint.
Each bag has 25 pipettes for $5.00.
That works out to be 20 cents for each 3ml lab-grade, graduated, re-usable pipette.
By filling the stem and bulb of this pipette, a total of ~1ml is delivered at a time.
The small size and short stem of the Micro Pipette make them ideal for measuring and mixing paint directly in the airbrush paint cup.
Each bag has 25 Micro pipettes for $4.75.
That works out to be 19 cents for each lab-grade, graduated, re-usable Micro pipette.
